Linda Fenwick’s shell exhibition
The best event this August was Linda Fenwick’s shell exhibition in Bembridge on the lovely Isle of Wight – a small hop from Portsmouth with Wight Link Ferries. Linda has an amazing gift as a shell artist, and personally designs and makes customised shell panels and interior decoration in classical designs for houses, gardens, loggias, follies, restaurants, bars, spas, hotels and pool houses or any other location you could dream up.
She has collected shells all of her life and has a fascination for the form and pattern of each one and says, ‘Their natural beauty, myriad shapes, and range of sizes lends perfectly to surface decoration.’ Seeing is believing. I didn’t know what to expect but was awed by the complexity and grace of the patterns and colour combinations Linda has skillfully brought into the 21st century.

Why not pop over to the Isle of Wight with Wight Link – there are loads of lovely places to stay, historical attractions to explore, cliff walks, sailing courses and of course festivals. Or you could just go beachcombing.
